Description of the assignment:
This project begins with researching vocal masques (one person shows) and ends with a performance of your own. Through this project you will learn and experience the various roles required to make theatre and, indeed, the very nature of theatre itself.
The first concept you need to grasp is that there is no such thing as a one-person show. Theatre is a collaborative art, and this collaboration is essential to bring the piece to life. Once the piece is in the final editing stage, it is important to have another perspective or a director to help stage the piece. You are encouraged to work with a designer, or to take on some of the design responsibilities: lights, set, costume, props, sound, should be explored, thinking about how each element can help support the final production.
