Workshops: Trial and Error
Not long now...just over a week to go until you will be delivering your exciting workshops to students from all over Hong Kong!
Steven Berkoff: Saya, Boris and Brayden
Antonin Artaud: Gabi and Clara
Theatre of the Absurd: Izzy and Matthew
Practice and get feedback!!!!
Please use these two blocks to trial some exercises on each other. Some exercises sound good in theory but require practical exploration to try and get a feel whether they will work or not in a workshop setting . The opposite is true too - some exercises sound terrible in their explanation but are real gems!
Each group should trial at least one or two exercises. Please do not run your entire workshop. Every group should have the opportunity to share their ideas.
Following each group's sharing of ideas, reflect on how successful the exercises were in practice. What can you change to make it better? Stronger? How could you adapt the exercises to meet the philosophy of the theatre practice you are exploring in your workshop?
Please ensure that you document this reflection in your journals. I will be asking you about what you discovered during our next lesson.
